This June, our current students will officially be high school graduates. As they transition on to the next step in their lives, we are making plans for an enhanced program with a new cohort of students…in a brand new Detroit space!
Architecture & design firm, Gensler, hosted our second workshop of year 4 in their super sweet downtown Detroit office. Our FATE students spent this lovely Saturday in November learning about how they work with clients to design spaces. After introducing the design process, FATE students were placed into groups and tasked with designing the brand new Merit/FATE space in Detroit to open in Summer 2016. They searched for inspiration, brainstormed ideas, drew up the plans, and presented their designs.
The winning group’s design went on to serve as the basis for the final design used for FATE’s brand new Detroit space to open Fall 2016!
