In an effort to keep our students and staff as safe as possible, we made a decision early on that this year FATE would be virtual. It was important, however, that we were still providing engaging, interactive, and project-based content on a weekly basis.
Our Answer: The FATE Box
Each month students receive a FATE box that guides all activities for the weekly Zoom and is organized with three primary elements -- Bags, Envelopes, & Cards. With a box in hand, students are able to follow along during each workshop session, whether that be pulling the cards out from the envelopes for each activity, holding up their dry erase paddle with one word for how they feel, or enjoying a tasty treat we included in the bag. Students are able to follow along during each workshop with the materials needed (in the color-coded bags) and the activities (outlined on cards in the corresponding color-coded envelopes).
