FATE Summer Book Club
The first ever FATE Summer Book Club experience was one we'll never forget. Chris Wilson inspired us with his harrowing, yet triumphant memoir, The Master Plan: My Journey From a Life In Prison to a Life of Purpose. Participants included current FATE students, FATE alum, college-age & working professional mentors, staff, and Give Merit board members. Over 4 sessions, we finished the 400+ page book, and participants shared what the book meant to them, how they were moved by Chris's story, and how they might catalyze their own master plans.
Additionally, each week we gathered book quotes that resonated with us as readers. Our amazing creative director, Ndubisi, then created a graphic that memorialized the final quote choice so it could live on through art for each participant.
Our very sincere thanks to Chris, who not only shared his incredible book with us, but also kicked off the book club sharing his story with our students, and rounded it out with a Q&A about the book and his life.
